That time of year is here again. The time of year when the days get shorter and the temperatures begin to fall. Time for us to trade in our bikinis for hoodies! I am a summer girl, all the way, but there are plenty of reasons to celebrate the changing seasons. Winding down as the temperatures do, can be a great way to reset your mind, body, and soul for the winter months ahead. I am so happy to bring you my tips for the perfect night in. First, we need to determine whom you'll be sharing your night with, are you solo?, with your "fur babies?," a special someone?
In any case, you're going to need some refreshments! I love the idea of something sweet, warm, and portable... as in, I can carry it in a mug with me... see where I am going here?Microwaveable Mugcakes! The great thing about these easy and delicious treats is that they are quick and customizable! If you happen to be a vanilla fan, but you sweetheart favors chocolate cakes, it's super easy to make the switch, just add some cocoa powder to your batter! Have some fruit lying around? Chop it up, and throw it in the batter before cooking. Here is a link to a really easy and delicious recipie: http://www.tablefortwoblog.com/the-moistest-very-vanilla-mug-cake/
The next step to the perfect night in is to select a great show or movie to watch while wrapped up in blankets, preferably fresh out of the dryer, for extra coziness! I personally like to use Hulu to catch up on my favorite TV shows, and I prefer Netflix for movies. Whether you are alone, or have company, you cannot go wrong! It is most important that you find a comfy spot, where you can easily access the few things you will need to complete the experience. This would be a good excuse to just chill on the bed, or to setup shop on the couch.
I personally am not at my coziest until I have a nice, warm beverage to sip on. I like coffee, myself, but you cn never go wrong with Hot Cocoa, Warm Cider, or even something more adult, if that's what you fancy. It is your night in, afterall! The bottom line is that if you get the chance to spend a night vegging, it really is great for the soul. It's almost like a full mind and body reset. There is really nothing as relaxing as spending an evening not doing anything, but focusing on the relaxation itself.
